 Short and Long Term Contract Placements

For project resources, peak demand periods or the acquisition of highly specialised engineering services fall outside the scope of your core business expertise, AZ-Tech meets your demand for contract services supplement your workforce.

 Permanent Placements

The activities listed below are our usual practice, however our flexible business structure enables us to tailor these services to your special circumstances.  Please discuss the most appropriate strategy with your Consultant. 

  • Investigation of role requirements with you to decide on priorities for preparation of an effective job specification (if not already in place)

  • The AZ-Tech consultant conducts an internal search of our candidate database

  • We prepare Advertising; either through our internal sources, on-line searches and /or via display advertising that is designed to attract the highest calibre candidates 

  • Telephone screening and interviews to select short-listed applicants to agreed Job Specifications

  • Reference checking, testing, validation of credentials, presentation of resumes, candidate profiling

  • Arrange interviews between clients and candidates and co-ordination of the exchange of personal information in line with the provisions of the Privacy Act

  • Liaison and negotiation between the parties to ensure a successful outcome

  • Advise unsuccessful candidates of rejection

  • Coordinate mobilisation including tele-conferences (phone/video), transportation, accommodation etc for remote site positions

  • Preparation of offer documentation on behalf of the client to describe the elements of offer, conditions of employment, safety, security and other salient policy information that the parties must be cognizant of in order to make an informed decision. 

  • Checking progress of successful candidate and deal with post placement concerns by either party  

Testing

Many of our Clients take advantage of our testing services to assess both internal and prospective staff.  We utilise the Apollo Profile personality profiling, which can be done either at our offices, or via an internet link to the tests.  Comprehensive reports can be produced for all levels of staff, for any level of position through to senior executive roles.  Testing is to Australian norms.

We can also provide skills assessment tools. 

HR Consulting

Human Resource Management is increasingly being complicated by legislative impacts.  Not every company has the budget for an on staff specialist with the expertise to advise you on critical Industrial Relations and other impacts on Employment Legislation.

The increasing shortage of professional engineers to meet Australia’s growing demand for skilled professionals, forces the realisation that there is much to be gained from training and developing new graduates internally to your own systems and technology applications.  

You may feel that there are no guarantees that this effort will be rewarded with the long term loyalty of the graduate.   True enough that there are no such guarantees, however many Australian companies came to rely on external agencies to supply a constant stream of experts on demand and this has proven to be to our detriment as a nation that needs to build its’ technical capabilities. 

Recent rapid business growth has increased the local demand for such people to levels never experienced before.  Meanwhile retirements, the departure of many of our best for off-shore opportunities and other economic factors have decreased the pool of available contract engineering personnel for local industry and infrastructure development projects.
